Rom 10:14
This Week's
Question
Q39
What should we pray?
The whole Word of God directs and inspires us in what we should pray, including the prayer Jesus himself taught us.
EPHESIANS 3:14–21
Do For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
PRAYER
Father God. Open the eyes of our hearts to see the great Saviour of our souls. Jesus is always with His people as You have promised in your unbreakable covenant Judges 2:1b ‘…I will never break my covenant with you’. Thank you for Your faithfulness to Your Word through the ages past. This is our sure hope and confidence in the future – no matter what the circumstances of the world around us. LORD, keep our spiritual eyes open. All glory be to You. Amen.
LORD strengthen the sick. We pray for Kristoffer Sandvick, Tanya Weaver’s friend Craig [His family write “Craig is actually doing pretty well all things considered. He just finished his 4th round of chemo with minimal side effects! We are very thankful for all the support and prayers. Please don’t stop!”], Binzi Raja’s brother Mukesh, and Nokthula Moyo. We praise you for Ingrid Mazonde’s continued good health. We thank You for safe travel for Mauricio Martinez (Harare), Tim Galage (Malawi), Mell Jones (USA), Tinashe Chengeta (Masvingo) and Xolani Ndlovu (Mozambique). We do not take travel safety for granted whether the journey be near or far.
LORD. LORD, please send rain. We thank You for the MTW food support for the churches of the Presbytery for some months. Please keep the hearts of brothers and sisters in the flock soft to be generous for ‘social concerns retiring offerings’ and the ‘care pantry’ ministry steadily supplied even when personal resources are limited and under pressure. We continue to pray for the Teodózio’s TEP process. We thank You for the Martinez’s TEP approved last week and stamped in their passports.
LORD, we pray for the persecuted church, especially Wang Yi detained for his faith.
In Jesus’ name, Amen
